Anyone have any info on online schools that offer medical coding and billing?
How is it going? I was walking through the mall today and I thought of a good medical coding question. Well, here it is. I think you will find it helpful.
This is the thing. I have tried schools before online, but what i am looking for is an accredited online school teaches strictly medical coding and billing w/o all the pre req such has history and so forth. I would also like to know if u know of any such schools are they able to accept financial aid. Thanks for any positive feedback.

Many of the online medical billing schools don’t have history for example and other pre requisites that don’t relate to medical billing and medical coding. Many have classes that you don’t need to take and can opt out of. You need to check with each school and compare. It will be different for everyone. You may not need or want medical terminology for example and someone else may want to take it. Be careful about accreditation. Some online medical billing schools may have started their own accreditation associations. Be careful about high cost. You should be able to take classes in medical billing and coding that have a reasonable cost. Most of the online medical billing and coding schools have connections for financial aid. If not, there is financial aid available for online degrees through the federal government.

You are on the right track about choosing only the accredited schools/colleges. Earning a degree from accredited colleges is always good option. I am not aware of any particular college for this field, but I found that this page http://www.thedegreeexperts.com/sd-assoc… provides the list of online accredited colleges providing the degree in your field of interest. Regarding financial aid, the best I can suggest is that you should contact the college authorities regarding this matter.
